Is the dough auger no longer moving?  The pasta attachments are equipped with a shear pin/shaft (similar to a snow blower) that breaks, preventing damage to the KitchenAid mixer and other components in the pasta attachment. However, KitchenAid does not provide replacement shear pins/shafts and the solution is to replace the entire attachment!

This kit comprises of a new shear shaft coupler, and a complete installation instruction sheet to repair your KitchenAid Pasta KSMPEXTA attachment. The shear shaft is CNC machined to tight tolerances to ensure it fails when overloaded and not during normal operation.
